Hello, I'm Alexey Chizhik.
I am a freelance scientific illustrator and physics researcher at the University of Göttingen (Germany).
After completing my PhD in 2011 in the fields of plasmonics and nanoparticle research in the University of Tübingen (Germany), I moved to Göttingen to continue my work in the fields of bio-physics and super-resolution microscopy. 15 years experience of interdisciplinary research allowed me to learn all the aspects of scientific illustrations for publications, presentations, or research proposals.
Passion for both science and art has always driven me to look for the best ways to visualize data or research methods, to look for new creative ideas on how to make illustrations clear, concise, and artistically appealing. Years of experience producing illustrations for my colleagues and myself led me to the role of a freelance scientific illustrator that allowed me to provide my service to customers worldwide.
My recent scientific illustrations and animations can be found in Gallery of this website. You can find more information on my scientific background and publications on the Google Scholar page.
