I asked Alexey if he could prepare a cover for a paper that had just been accepted in Advanced Science. We had very little time and it was unclear whether the journal would accept our proposal for the cover. Within a few days, Alexey translated the core message of our paper into a compelling illustration. Without any further changes, it was accepted and is now a cover illustration of Advanced Science.<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The cover image for Nano Letters, which shows our work on membrane fusion, was also created by Alexey, using only the manuscript as the basis for the illustration. I was impressed by the original draft, not only was it beautiful, but it already showed all the key aspects of the paper. This was remarkable, as it was quite a multidisciplinary paper on chemistry, advanced fluorescence microscopy and membrane biophysics. After a couple suggestions and quick responses, he came up with the final version, which I even use as the background for my presentations.
